LOCAL VIBE
This activity called "Local Vibe" because the Guesthouse's Hostess take you to discover old Bali Life in "Kutuh Kaja" traditional village That surrounded by field which is the principal job of the villager and if you stay during holiday season, then you gonna find out many traditional ceremonies during weeks in the village and also you can join and mix up with the local people in Balinese dress code.

Kuningan Day
Also hi-recommended  to check the guesthouse web before planning to go for ordinary day tour meanwhile there are some ceremony and local community unique celebration is held in the village. Join it and feel real Bali back in 80's and 90's.  It is 100% free of charge, but in other hand we recommend you to make some donation for the local community as thank fullness  have permitted us join their sacred ceremony.
Normally in Bali has two kind principal ceremony and celebration that use two different calendar as the reference.


  1. Wuku Calendar (repeated every 6 month). the wuku or pawukon (in jawa) which was used by the Bali Aga (native of Bali Island before people from Majapahit emperor come to Bali) and the saka calendar was imported from India during the Majapahit empire. The wuku calendar has 30 weeks or 210 day cycle and is a moon cycle calendar.
    The wuku calendar is dived into 30 weeks (wuku) and does not follow astronomical guidelines other than the lunar cycle but not influence the full and new moon cycle. It has 10 simultaneous weeks but normally it work combine together to decide the good day ceremony, farming and holly day for any celebration such as Galungan and Kuningan day. The most important is the 7-day week. The names of the days are like the gregorian calendar, named after planets and the day change also in the midnight. aahere is 7 days week name in saka calendar: Sunday (redite), the Sun; Monday (soma), the Moon; Tuesday (anggara), Mars; Wednesday (budda), Mercury; Thursday (wrestpati), Jupiter; Friday (sukra), Venus; Saturday (sanistjara), Saturn.
    The wuku calendar has 30 7-day weeks a year or twice a year gregorian calendar, each with a different name, Sinta, Landep, Ukir, Kulantir, Tolu, Gumbreg, Wariga, Warigadean, Juluwangi, Sungsang, Sungulan, Kuningan, Langkir, Medangsia, Pujut, Pahang, Klurut, Merakih, Tambir, Medangkungan, Matal, Uye, Menail, Prangbakat, Bala, Ugu, Wayang, Kelau, Dukut and Watugnung. In Bali, people birthday also celebrated according Wuku Calendar. This calendar doesn't have number for their year and repeated the same every 6 months.
      
  2. Saka Calendar (Annual calendar ). The saka calendar is based on the moons cycles too. The year is divided in to 12 months (sasih) consisting of 29 - 30 days each, each month beginning after the new moon, one cycle moon equal 1 sasih (saka month). The day change at 6 am (morning) not like Gregorian calendar which is the the change at midnight.
    Nyepi - The day of silence is the new year of Saka calendar where the entire islands shuts down leaving room for self-reflection and meditation. None of any activity allowed in public. and the unique of this calendar are the days always change after 6 am morning, The Sasih (month) change after new moon and the new year start from the month of 10th, not from 1st.

KUTUH KAJA VILLAGE
Kutuh Kaja is a one local community close by the Beluran Serene Guesthouse (BSG) which is the people still keep their ancestor agriculture and traditional village culture with their traditional music called "gambelan" often play when there is some sacred ceremony held. The people in this village are so welcome. This Village is Hi-Recommended to visit meanwhile your stay in the guesthouse. If you need our host to accompany you to the village, just make an appointment a day before to arrange the best time to go. You kindly to be ask to give some donation IDR 50K per couple for the local family and you will also get free welcome bali coffee and some snack. actually this activity is free. Some rupiah asked by the hostess just because  he will give it to the family as thankful has permitted us to see their family life and had treated us with their ward greeting coffee.

Odalan Ceremony
Principally in big family consist of some small family and one Family Temple. And the area or land where they build their houses are divided in tree part. 1st part holly area place where the principal family temple lay on. 2nd area call jeroan, where the family stay and build their houses. And the 3rd place call "tebo or tebenan" is a place where the family grow up their cattle.
Well, that was few explanation about villager family live. If you take this trip, surely you will start to find out the true bali people and feel like you are in bali in 1990's where's the local life still goes on.


SUBAK KUTUH TRIP 
Red Rice Field
Subak is a traditional organisation who is dabbling in irrigation system and agriculture for the field. Subak is one of ancient irrigation system that still sustainable till now. Here you can join with the farmer in to the rice field and participate them to plant and harvest the rice. This kind of trip will be able to join just 4 times a year.
